Welcome to the web site of St. Benedict's Abbey in Atchison, Kansas, USA, the third monastery founded in the American Cassinese Congregation of Benedictine monks. We seek to be Benedictine in culture, Catholic in faith, and Evangelical in our words, works and deeds. In our earliest years, we were dubbed the "Kansas Monks" by our colleagues from St. Vincent Archabbey, Latrobe, Pennsylvania, our mother house. We wear this label with pride and wish to foster faith, education, and culture in our land and local church, the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.
