If we hear the word of God and do not understand it, it is not be cause we are not clever enough or smart enough to articulate the meaning, but because we do not love.  If we lack love, the door of our soul is opened to the “evil one” who takes away what has been sown in our heart.  On this day we commemorate Jesus’ ultimate act of love, we ask for the ability to love, to offer our selves in service to God.
