Benedict's Beads Rosaries

from 70.00

Benedict's Beads rosaries are made by Br. Benedict Mary Geist, OSB, with help from his brother monks.  He professed vows on December 8th, 2014, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.  Each rosary from Benedict’s Beads is monk-made and a prayer is said for the future owner of each rosary.  More rosaries can be found at the Benedict's Beads website.

Please note, Benedict's Beads are hand-made to order, your item may take 3-4 weeks to ship.  If you have questions feel free to contact us.

The “Ladder Rosary,” also known as the “Stairway to Heaven Rosary” was first found in Mexico. They are called ladder rosaries because the beads are strung crossways on a double chain, like rungs of a ladder. The name calls to mind St. Dominic’s vision of souls climbing into Heaven on the Rosary, and St. Francis de Sales’ vision of two ladders to Heaven: a rather steep one directly to Jesus, and another, far less steep, towards the Blessed Virgin Mary. Interestingly, the Russian word for Rosary means “ladder,” and, Michaelangelo’s “Last Judgment” in the Sistine Chapel shows two souls being pulled out of purgatory by a Rosary.

Ladder Rosaries make truly beautiful and affordable gifts for first communions, confirmations, weddings, graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.  Each rosary is made of high quality materials and made to last.  They also come with a guarantee, that if one should ever break it will be repaired for free.

Raven Rosary

This rosary incorporates the colors and spirit of Benedictine College.  It has black beads in the decades with deep red Our Father beads.  The centerpiece and crucifix are Benedictine, calling to mind the college’s origins and mission in the world to be a community of faith and scholarship.

Abbey Rosary

Made using the colors found in our Abbey coat of arms and a Benedictine centerpiece and crucifix, the Abbey Rosary is a great way of staying united in prayer with the monks of St. Benedict’s Abbey.

Lourdes Rosary

Made with glass white pearl and light blue beads, the Lourdes Rosary calls to mind the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Lourdes which occurred at the time that St. Benedict’s Abbey was founded.  The colors also happen to be that of Mount St. Scholastica College, founded by the Benedictine Sisters of Mount St. Scholastica and one of the co-forerunners of Benedictine College.
