Fr. Brendan Rolling, OSB, monk of St. Benedict’s Abbey, and long-time chaplain of Benedictine College, has been appointed by Abbot James Albers, OSB, as a chaplain with the Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS). His new role will be to minister to students and missionaries on FOCUS campuses across the United States.
As he served in the role of chaplain at Benedictine College, Fr. Brendan said, “The most important thing I could be doing right now is helping college students know and love their Catholic faith and follow Christ in their lives."
He will now do exactly that for an even larger number of students through FOCUS.
"Fr. Brendan has been a great spiritual father to our missionaries over the years of his service at Benedictine College," said FOCUS National Chaplain Fr. John Lager, OFM Cap. "We are looking forward to the support he will now be able to provide for missionaries on other campuses that FOCUS is privileged to serve.”
Abbot James expressed his appreciation for Fr. Brendan’s service to Benedictine College in bringing young adults to know Christ. He also shared his hope for Fr. Brendan’s role with FOCUS, "I am excited to send Fr. Brendan to join the FOCUS family. They are gaining a monk and priest whose experience at the collegiate level will help their organization thrive.”
Fr. Brendan is a 1993 graduate of Benedictine College and has served at BC in various capacities, most notably as Chaplain and Director of mission and ministry, since 2005.
