Father Daniel begins teaching a graduate course in Liturgy today at the Pontifical Liturgy Institute located at the Benedictine house of studies, Sant’Anselmo, Rome. His course presents the collects (opening prayers of Mass) from the Sundays of the Lenten and Easter seasons. He will consider their Latin expression and their theological meaning. We hope this may be the beginning of a long and fruitful contribution to the universal church made by our abbey through his teaching. Many of his students will become seminary professors and serve on the liturgy committees of their respective National Conference of Catholic Bishops.
