After the Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report and the revelation of the Cardinal McCarrick case broke this summer, Pope Francis called on the Church to offer prayer and fasting for her own reparation and to be in prayer for the victims of abuse.  During the US Bishops’ meetings, 12-15 November 2018, St. Benedict’s Abbey will be hosting 72 hours of Adoration in the Abbey Church to pray for the victims of abuse, as well that the Holy Spirit will guide the bishops in their meetings.

Adoration each day runs from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. The Abbey Church will be closed to the public each night.

Abbot James and the monks of the Abbey invite the entire Atchison Community to join them in this important prayer – most especially the St. Benedict Parish and School community, as well as Benedictine College and Maur Hill-Mount Academy. Sign up here to join us in prayer. If you are unable to attend, we ask that you join us in praying from wherever you are.
